Paul Anheuser is a 14th generation family estate which was established in the Nahe in 1627. Many vineyards in the Nahe including Schlossböckelheim are planted in volcanic soils, and display a different profile than any other major growing region in Germany. The Königsfels vineyard has steep, red slopes which retain heat and produce fruity, minerally Rieslings.

Black Star Farms Arcturos Late Harvest Riesling. One of the most versatile grapes grown, Riesling is considered one of the great white varieties of the world. In this style we halt the fermentation to leave an appropriate amount of balancing residual sugar, which also makes the wine that much more intense and flavorful. Ripe peach and honeysuckle are complimented by subtle hints of nutmeg, citrus and cool slate. The concentrated fruit flavors of peach, apricot, and citrus are balanced by refreshing acidity.

This wine presents classic Riesling aromas of delicate white flowers and stone fruit. Ripe flavors of citrus, peach and apple follow on the palate.

The Riesling features spiced aromas of cinnamon and clove and fruity aromas of orange blossom and lemon zest. On the palate, the wine's crisp acidity is balanced by some sweetness and its silky mouthfeel leads to a long, lingering finish. The Riesling pairs nicely with spicy Thai cuisine as well as pork loin and barbecued ham
