Arbor Crest’s Syrah is an exciting wine that is full-bodied as well as rich and velvety. The grapes from both vineyards were hand-picked and hand-sorted with yields kept low, to produce a wine with concentrated black cherry and blueberry nuances. The combination of these two vineyards produces a complex and enticing blend. Balanced by a fine acidity and tannin structure, the toasty spices from new French oak add hints of nutmeg, clove and licorice.

Maintained through an organic growing process, our Syrah vineyards are entering their prime, reflected in the wine’s brilliant color and intense aromas. Bonterra Syrah blends a touch of Rhone varietals like Grenache, Mouvedre and Viognier for a powerful floral note. Concentrated berry flavors come to the fore with notes of vanilla and toasty oak spice from aging in French oak.

Inky purple. Powerfully scented nose offers sexy raspberry, blackberry, smoked meat and fresh rose. Picks up a vanillin oak spice character with air, which carries onto the palate. Sweet, sappy red and dark berry preserve flavors offer very good, palate-coating intensity, with late-arriving spice.

Spicy, pepper-spiked strawberry fruit bouquet. Medium-bodied on the palate and just bursting with sweet, ripe black cherry and plummy fruit flavors with echoes of the black pepper and clove notes in the nose. Nice rounded mouthfeel with silky tannins.

Ripe and open-textured, this is impressive for the way it packs in the cherry, blackberry and raspberry flavors and doesn't take the foot off the gas pedal until the mineral-inflected finish has played through.

Our 2007 Barrel Select Petite Sirah is deep plum colored with exotic aromas of clove, espresso, violets, cola and blackberry compote. On the palate big flavors of strawberries, wild plums, cinnamon, blackberry, blueberry and hints of coffee and spice lead to a broad mouthfeel with smooth, yet firm tannins. This wine is loaded with big fruit and spice flavors, has fine texture, great structure and a strong backbone making it a great candidate for ageing.
